Honestly 02:01
Mind the gap Step in through the door Hold your tongue You're preaching to the choir When I see The truth behind Lies that hide In plain sight Trust the fall And swallow your pride Mend your heart Wear it on your sleeve When I see The truth behind Lies that hide In plain sight Then I'll know Honestly That you'll stay By my side

More 03:41
Feel tired in my head It's gonna pick me up again Don't listen to what they said Prayer to God this time again Goes together hand and hand Feel myself slipping in Just like a sweet romance Head first, I dive right in And I want some more And I want some more And I want some more And I want some more Give up on all there is Holding on just by a thread As innocent you say it is Wide awake and full of dread And I want some more And I want some more And I want some more And I want some more And I want some more And I want some more And I want some more And I want some more

Everyone has vice or two like you But we all know what we should do Instead we stay the same not change Is there really someone else to blame I could get a move on or improve on myself But there's no way I waking up to find me say That today is not the day I'm gonna run that 5 minute mile I'm gonna start to smile at everyone I meet I'm gonna eat that healthy food Have the right attitude I'm gonna offer someone else a seat I'm gonna return that call Gonna write them all Get back to each and every one I'm gonna take my busy time But I know you'll find It's easier said than done Everyone has a wish or dream in between But now I just what I mean I've been working hard so far To find out who we really are I could get a shaking or making that shelf But there's no way Lay my head to hit the hay Today was not, not the day I'm gonna run that 5 minute mile I'm gonna start to smile at everyone I meet I'm gonna eat that healthy food Have the right attitude I'm gonna offer someone else a seat I'm gonna return that call Gonna write them all Get back to each and every one I'm gonna take my busy time But I know you'll find It's easier said than done I'm the one, the only one that hasn't begun It's easier said than I'm the one, the only one that hasn't begun It's easier said than done

I have a story to tell About the things you know so well That you keep hiding away Everyday I cry About these things not knowing why I wish I could wipe these tears away Stormy seas will take the tidal wave Of discontentment And crash it down and down and then As the clouds will disappear from the sky To let the sunshine in I will be there again I have a story to tell About the things you propel That you keep throwing away Everyday I try About these things but days goes by I wish I could wash these fears away Stormy seas will take the tidal wave Of discontentment And crash it down and down and then As the clouds will disappear from the sky To let the sunshine in I will be there again I will be there again I will be there my friend

Novel Study 03:03
An little bitty mouse went walking Lived in a hole in the wall The motorbike was so shiny Little joyride 'til fall Good ol' Charlie loved his chocolate Didn't have a dime to show But his ticket golden Brought it home to Grandpa Joe Things get gone when we get big All the dreams we had when we were just a kid Adventurous, wild and free When the world was so easy The little piggy hid behind her Kept him safe from harm Then Charolette spun some wonder In the corner of the barn For a race he trained all summer But Leslie took the lead Over the creek they did swing A land where crowned king and queen Things get gone when we get big All the dreams we had when we were just a kid Adventurous, wild and free When the world was so easy Things get gone when we get big All the dreams we had when we were just a kid Adventurous, wild and free When the world was so easy

Good Grief 02:13
I can not share my thoughts I chase them along the way There's a softness but The edges came to play It shouldn't bother you But I don't feel the same Another rainbows end Just went down the drain Good Good Good Good I tied my anchor on So please don't pull my chain Although my skin looks tough Tears run through my veins A wayward feather sits Far from past delight The hardest things to say Keep me up at night Good Good Good Good The grass is greener there On the other side Those who venture through Speak just with their eyes Good Good Good Good Good Good Good Good...Grief

I'll wait for you You know that all it take is Just your face to Take my breath away Let's trace our steps Just to see that the crumbs we've left here From the past year Have nothing to do with today Let's make a pact That we'll never turn back to what we were And make a wish That we accomplish all the things that you're sure Of that will make you save Or pave the way Back to my heart Back to my heart Can't figure you Out to be the one I'm free with I can not believe it took this long to choose Beneath these sins You're just like an angel by my side That leaves me so tongue tied With a body I can not refuse Let's make a pact That we'll never turn back to what we were And make a wish That we accomplish all the things that you're sure Of that will make you save Or pave the way Back to my heart Back to my heart

Ailments 04:30
You're cancer Feel something wrong My back hurts Help, slip, drug along No excuses Walk it off, old routine Elevated Pace my heart to the screen Check light, check head, check heart, check health Just check what else can Take away Take away Take away Take away No symptoms Just get it off my chest Medication Not the button, depress Feel hollow Downtrodden, most lame Death sentence Script reads the same Check light, check head, check heart, check health Just check what else can Take away Take away Take away Take away Defy no logic Mind full in my head Grin and Reaper Half alive, half dead Take away Take away Take away Take away

Something restless and I don't know what to say And I... Am something restless Something restless and my mind checks out again Something restless and I check out with my friends Something restless and I search but can not find Something restless when I can't make up my mind And I... Am something restless And I... Am something restless Something restless and I don't know what to say Something restless and it takes the words away Something restless and it happens all the time Something restless and I'm left so far behind And I... Am something restless And I... Am something restless And I... Am something restless And I... Am something restless And I... Am something restless And I... Am something restless And I... Am something restless

Everyday I devise a plan That seems to slip right through my hands A dance with fate A walk with grace A broken promise in bad taste Can't lead a life of wants without a consequence That you pick rather than your friends My ship may sail with questions left behind I guess I'll know when I cross the line Once again I try to make a plan That seems to change upon demand A simple choice Made in haste A fork in the road yet to face Can't lead a life of wants without a consequence That you pick rather than your friends My ship may sail with questions left behind I guess I'll know when I cross the line I guess I'll know when I cross the line I guess I'll know when I cross the line I think I have just crossed the line

I had the strangest feeling in my thoughts Your name keeps popping up in conversation If you should breach the circle of friends I have I said goodbye some time ago If you want to be a friend to me Slip on these shoes I wear and then you'll see I've left you once before it's not easy My only wish for you is happiness That keeps you smiling when you're angry I hope that you turn into the person that You're suppose to be If you want to be a friend to me Slip on these shoes I wear and then you'll see I've loved you twice before it's not easy If you want to be a friend to me Slip on these shoes I wear and then you'll see We've done this all before it's not easy Misery loves company

Shame Shame 02:00
I saw a service in the South Show me the way It took the words right out my mouth Stolen away Another sunny day, on a Sunday Can someone place the blame by name Shame shame Can someone place the blame by name Shame shame Shame shame Shame Shame A cabin sermon in the North Hidden away Simple thoughts, no back and forth With nothing to say Another sunny day, on a Sunday Can someone place the blame by name Shame shame Can someone place the blame by name Shame shame Shame shame Shame Shame I saw a service in the South Show me the way

I got a girl, who lives with me When I look 'round, all I see Are the good things, the good things She's got a dog, who walks with me When I walk 'round, all I see Are the good things, the good things When I think about it We should know Never really had a doubt of hope One must trust and then things grow All the good things work for me, work for me The good things work, work for me Never really know what life may be The good things work, work for me I got a job, that's cool with me When I clown 'round, all I see Are the good things, the good things I got a friend, who hangs with me When he comes 'round, all I see Are the good things, the good things When I think about it We should know Never really had a doubt of hope One must trust and then things grow All the good things work for me, work for me The good things work, work for me Never really know what life may be The good things work, work for me All the good things work for me, work for me The good things work, work for me Never really know where life may lead The good things work, work for me The good things work, work for me

about

A collection of tunes interwoven together with a story to tell about life, love, loss, mental health and change. Each song has a gentle embrace and simple hook to draw you in. The narrative could be a chapter from your own book and connects us to our own experiences. Take the good with the bad. Enjoy the ride. Love often and listen always.

The first full length solo effort by Ryan Thomas Smelle is his recently created "Homestretch Studios". Influences from indie folk, pop, north Americana and singer-songwriter can be found throughout. The goal was to explore the simplistic nature of music through acoustic minimalism.

In the vein of Tom Petty, Jack Johnson, 54-40 and Gordon Lightfoot.
